Honest, funny, rueful, hopeful—your essay gives a true sense of those tumultuous years when women finally came to Rutgers College.

Rutgers: A 250th Anniversary Portrait, a commemorative book from Rutgers University Press, celebrates the history of New Jersey’s state university through an eclectic mix of historical narrative, personal stories, and memories. As an alumna of the first class of women admitted to Rutgers College, CorporateHistory.net president Marian Calabro was asked to contribute an essay on that historic turning point. She’s proud to have her work included with that of Junot Diaz, Elizabeth Warren, Thomas Frusciano, and other distinguished contributors. Calabro also provided several visuals and artifacts that now reside in the University Archives. The book is available directly from the University at this link.
Award: Honored with a Gold Medal in the Circle of Excellence Awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
